WTO report: China maintained a progressive economic liberalization policy

31 May, the World Trade Organization published a report that over the past two years, China has continued to maintain a progressive economic liberalization, gradually pushing its international trade and investment liberalization.

This report by the WTO secretariat drafted on China over the past two years a report on trade policy, said that China will continue to adhere to the "progressive economy to international trade and foreign direct investment and opening up" of a long-term strategy. In addition, China continued to attach great importance to the role of the multilateral trading system, and active participation in the Doha round of trade negotiations.

Reported that, in the face of global economic crisis situation, China boycotted the protectionist practices. In response to the global economic recession impact, the Chinese Government has adopted the "expansionary fiscal and monetary policy", in order to offset the sharp reduction in external demand, and more attention by the expansion of domestic demand to promote national economic growth.

Reported that the Chinese Government recognizes that interim measures alone are not sufficient to correct their economic growth and development patterns of imbalances. The outbreak of the global economic crisis reinforces the Chinese Government to take a longer-term structural reforms.

The report also said that China continues to improve its legal framework and to strengthen protection of intellectual property rights. China has been promoting innovation as a major development strategy, and increased awareness of the protection of intellectual property rights on the importance of promoting domestic innovation.
